What is your fee for psychotherapy?

Individual / 50 minute session : $180    80 minute session : $240

Couples, or Family Therapy / 50 minute sessions : $200    80 minute session : $300

A longer session may be more appropriate for a couple being that there are the intricacies involved in considering multiple people, rather than solely the individual. Additionally, this may be more advantageous when one partner is not available to regularly attend sessions.

There are currently a limited number of availabilities for appointments based on a sliding-scale fee schedule based on need.

Paying out of pocket for therapy rather than using insurance benefits can be advantageous for several reasons:

  1. In order to bill insurance, I must give you a mental health diagnosis after the first session. If your symptoms do not fit the severity of a mental health diagnosis, I must provide this anyway.
  2. Insurance determines the length of each session, the frequency at which we may meet, and the total number of sessions you are allowed. It is my belief that each person is unique and requires a tailored treatment plan; many insurance companies complicate this  by establishing specifically assigning approaches and methodologies that will be covered.
  3. Many insurance plans only allow face-to-face sessions. I often provide teletherapy via phone or video conferencing when clients are unable to come into my office for any reason. Stressors or crises do not always happen on a preset timetable and having the flexibility to schedule sessions when, how often, and from where you want is important.
